Kahina Giving Beauty Night Cream

My most recent obsession is Kahina Giving Beauty Night Cream. In a word: wow. I can’t say this is an in-depth review. I have been using this product for about two weeks, so it’s more of a “first impressions,” or more accurately, a “love at first use” post. I know, I know, I am gushing. But here is the thing…I ran out of my usual fancy moisturizer recently. I tried to reorder before running out, but it was on back order. I was reduced to scraping every last bit of product out of every last sample in my stash until there was nothing. I was dry-skinned and backed into a corner. I had to get some kind of moisturizer and fast. Then I saw this post by the brilliant Beauty Idealist. She knows her stuff. So I clickity-clicked onto Amazon and got Kahina’s Night Cream—and it was on prime (free delivery). It quickly arrived and all was right with the world. Now that the back order moisturizer has (finally) arrived, I am not even tempted to open it.

The Kahina Cream is wonderfully whipped. I prefer creams to oils, so I don’t mind getting a dose of famed argan oil via this herbal-scented concoction. This is my first time using argan oil and it really agrees with me. Some other well-loved/well-known brands of oils have caused a tiny bit of itching, but not this. Here are the ingredients:

aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice*, argania spinosa (argan) oil*, glyceryl stearate citrate, cetearyl alcohol, glyceryl caprylate, pichia/resveratrol ferment extract, lactobacillus ferment, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, propanediol, vitis vinifera (grape) juice extract, glycerin*, water/aqua/eau, butyrospermum parkii (shea) nut butter*, sodium hyaluronate, disodium rutinyl disulfate, hordeum distichon extract, melissa officinalis extract, cetyl esters, rosa damascena (rose) flower oil*, pelargonium graveolens (geranium) leaf/flower oil*, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower oil*, citrus aurantium (petitgrain bigarade) leaf/bud oil, bisabolol, tanacetum annuum flower oil*, santalum spicatum (sandalwood) wood oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract*, sclerotium gum, p-anisic acid, xanthan gum

Kahina talks up two major anti-aging ingredients in this cream: argan oil and red wine grapes. The former is the “heart” of Kahina’s formulations and provides “powerful antioxidants and high concentrations of nutrients and essential fatty acids that are the building blocks of healthy skin.” The latter is a source of resveratrol, AKA antioxidant powerhouse and reason to indulge in that glass of red, red wine. Here is Kahina’s list of benefits of the argan and grape packed cream:

• Builds collagen to firm and lift
• Improves tone and texture for more even, radiant skin
• Minimizes appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
• Soothes irritation and decreases redness
• Hydrates and moisturizes for smoother, softer skin
• Protects skin from environmental free radical damage that causes further aging

Obviously, I can’t speak to the anti-aging promises because I haven’t been using it very long. What I can say is that I plan to keep using it so I’ll get back to you on the anti-aging. I can also share that it absorbs quickly and you wake up to soft, soothed, moisturized skin. I am talking noticeably softer after one use. I think my skin looks better already too. I want to use it all over myself, but it’s too precious for that. I may get their body oil. We’ll see. But truly, it is such a lovely cream. I think it is great for intense night-time moisture without feeling heavy. It would also work as a soothing layer after a mask or exfoliating treatment.  Love!
